What Is Family?

With Family Day around the corner, we here at Market Buffet find ourselves wondering what it
truly means to be Family? Is it just your immediate circle; Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister or does
your family always include extended relatives; Grandparents, cousins and so on.

What about close friends, neighbors or others that mean something to you? A single mom going
through a tough time, a friend who is far from their own family or living far from home. What
about including them in your Family Day plans this year?

Here, at the Market Buffet – we’ve seen all sorts of families come through our doors – in the end, family means whatever you want it to. For us, it includes everyone who has made the trip to the Market Buffet, if only for one amazing buffet experience.

To quote what a great man once said;

This Family Day we’ve made it a little easier by giving a few activity ideas on February 19th. So,
go on and surround yourself with the people you like the most and get out and enjoy what our
wonderful community has to offer.

5 Things You Can Do To Shake Things Up on Family Day:

Ice Skating
Simcoe County is home to so many beautiful locations that often go unexplored during the
chillier months. In recent years we’ve seen a trend of ice skating trails popping up across the
country, and Simcoe County is no different! Check out these five cool outdoor skating trails
right in our backyard.

Hit The Hills
We often overlook how lucky we are being central to so many available ski hill options around
Barrie – With Snow Valley and Horseshoe a quick drive outside of the city, Mt St Louis 30
minutes north and, Blue Mountain an hour to the west – the possibilities are endless!

Get Your Game On!
At the time of writing this, it’s looking like there’s a chance this Family Day’s outdoor activities
could be rained out, which should come to as no surprise to anyone living in Simcoe County
(mother nature isn’t always on our side…) But! In the event that you can’t get outside and
explore, Retro Planet is an excellent destination for your family to celebrate each other – maybe
get a bit competitive? With over 150+ arcade games, mini putt, and laser tag with an on-site
diner there’s tons of fun to be had!

Everyone’s Favourite Meal!

After a day packed full of family fun, who wants to cook? (Besides us) So after your day of being
together, finish with a stop in at Market Buffet BBQ and Smokehouse where EVERYONE can
get exactly what they want.

It’s where picky eaters, slow eaters, meal planners, veggie- and meat-lovers can all come
together. And don’t forget Barrie’s largest home-baked dessert bar for the kiddos. As always –
we’ll do the dishes.
